Eligibility requirements vary by stream, but general requirements include:
- Nomination by an Australian state or territory government or Austrade.
- Demonstrated business success or investment experience.
- Meeting the minimum financial thresholds for the chosen stream.
- Aged under 55 years (age waivers may apply in some cases).
- Scoring at least 65 points on the Business Innovation and Investment Points Test (for certain streams).
- Meeting health and character requirements.
The Subclass 188 Visa allows you to stay in Australia for up to:
- 5 years for most streams (Business Innovation, Investor, and Significant Investor).
- 4 years and 3 months for the Entrepreneur Stream.
Visa holders can apply for an extension in certain streams or transition to the Subclass 888 Permanent Visa after meeting specific requirements.
